The dreamlike dimension of Cristina Kristal Rizzo’s Monumentum the Second Sleep/ Second Part, the Quartet (BandoAir 2024) enveloped those who danced and those who witnessed the open sharing on the 17. of October into an affective social fabric undergirding the experience:
an oceanic network that sensitizes us to ways how everything moves, lives, corresponds.
The following documentation calls for feeling and imagination to interweave a sign of recognition of the space that formed:
the memory, layered as skin,
is entered
through underwater printing, which submerged the photosensitive paper in water to capture from underneath the visible. The reader will encounter oneiric images layered with words that emerged during the post-showing feedback and photography dressed up in fabrics and symbols remembered from the performance.
The sensorial quartet, performed by a photographic process and three texts beginning with “I saw”, “I heard”, and “I felt” (referring to Simone Forti’s feedback method that we used), unveils a language of shapes and shadows, immersing the reader into a temporary alphabet that narrates, scene by scene, the collective memory from the audience’s perspective.
How the dramaturgy of a memory unfolds,
opens us and immerses us in other modes of relationality?
