Dance Well is an artistic practice aimed primarily at people with Parkinson’s, but open to everyone.
Dance Well is an artistic practice mainly aimed to people with Parkinson’s disease, conceived and promoted by CSC Casa della Danza di Bassano del Grappa. Activated in 2013 and based on practices already developed in Netherlands, this initiative arrived in Bassano in 2015, defining here its own identity; unlike other existing practices, the main goal of Dance Well is art through the expression of body. The participants are regarded as “dancers”, and just as them – not as “people with Parkinson’s” – they deal with the classes. Classes are free and open to everyone – families, friends, dancers, seniors, citizens, students – in a truly inclusive moment, since the “mixed class” allows a collective growth to develop, as well mutual support, not marginalizing anyone.
Since 2018, Lavanderia a Vapore has welcomed this exciting project, encroaching on other places in its network dedicated to beautiness, such as museums, parks and historic buildings. It contributes to the growth of the artistic experience by making it follow with a philosophy practice. A moment dedicated to dialogue, thanks to the discussion on the issues generated by the contemporary dance practice, in order to give life to an harmonious, open, collaborative and caring ecosystem.
