“Yet I know it’s true the visions are seldom all they seem” (from The Sleeping Beauty, Walt Disney, 1959) 

Walter is a futuristic waltz. Two bodies and a rule dance together to recreate the enchantment, immersed in the same space and time, united by 1-2-3. As in an aristocratic court or a popular ballroom, intrigues, loves, and encounters nourish the space. The human aspect is revealed in a fantastic, circular perimeter, where the redundancy of movements is shared with the viewer. A repetition that helps the work recreate the lost enchantment of a past fond of fairy tales. Walter turns round and round and never stops.

Laura Gazzani
After completing her academic studies, she deepened her practice in the USA and Spain. Her first work, CoNfUse, was selected in 2020 for Nuove Traiettorie XL, an action of the Network Anticorpi XL. In 2019 she created in collaboration with four other artists Flying Carpet, a project that investigates sustainability strategies for the dance artist profession in the Italian dance system. PEDRO is her first choreographic solo selected for the Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore 2021. In 2020 she is represented by MilanOltre Festival within the TDP International Dance Festival (Dublin) as a dancemaker in leading a group of artists to experiment with new forms of artistic interaction in the digital world. Currently her research continues with Walter.
