ALLORO_VARIETÀ AUREA | Artist residencies at school – Trampoline Residencies
curated by Francesca Cinalli and Paolo De Santis
research trajectory Il Corpo Rituale
with the participation of Elena Pisu and Nunzia Tirelli
Artist Residencies at School are creative processes that can nurture the artist’s own research on the one hand, and the creativity of the participating communities on the other. For this reason, Lavanderia a Vapore proposes a meeting between the school and the artistic sector, in which the work is shared and expanded from the very considerations of the students.
First traces of a research on the theme of eternity, starting with the element Gold: symbol of a mythical time of abundance and prosperity and archetype of light and vision. The research ranges between art, myth, ritual and play. In the play of assonances, the word Laurel, an evergreen plant, emerges, moving from the mythology of Apollo and Daphne to a variety of creations of totemic objects and magical-sacred spaces. The artistic residency with the students of the First High School of Art in Turin will be an opportunity to share potions of glows, creative sparks and imaginary constellations that will expand and nourish the field of research entitled Alloro_varietà aurea.
Francesca Cinalli and Paolo De Santis Since 2015, the field of research on Il Corpo Rituale has expanded thanks to workshops in high school institutes in the City of Turin, Italy and abroad aimed at young people and adolescents. This time has facilitated, in 2016, the birth of the Campi Creativi project aimed at young people under 25: short artistic residencies in which to train themselves to be in the world through an important baggage of experiences and a curious look at contemporary languages.
Since 2023, as part of the Campi Creativi project, the idea of proposing at the Lavanderia a Vapore the Campi Gravitazionali path was born, realizing in collaboration with Lavanderia a cycle of micro-residencies aimed at young people interested in sharing a time of observation, exploration, and study of the unfolding processes of the artists and guest communities. The aim is to cultivate among young people an interest in contemporary languages by meeting artists in the study and creation phase, in order to rework in practice the themes and modes of expression encountered.
Since 2022, the artists have collaborated with Lavanderia for the Forever Young project within the Media Dance, School of Wish and School Artist Residency tracks.
