CORPORALE | Artist Residencies at School – Trampoline Residencies

by Aristide Rontini

Artist Residencies at School are creative processes that can nurture the artist’s own research on the one hand, and the creativity of the communities that take part in them on the other. For this reason, Lavanderia a Vapore proposes an encounter between the school and the artistic sector, in which the work is shared and expanded from the very considerations of the students.

The original inspiration for the research is the image of the firefly evoked in “L’articolo delle lucciole”, contained in Pierpaolo Pasolini’s “Scritti Corsari.” The organic body of the firefly is a source of faint, intermittent glow in the night. By metaphor, people can also “light up” if placed in the condition of having access to their sensations and emotions. The bodily practice at the center of the research becomes a means of entering one’s personal archive of postures, relational dynamics, gestures and positioning, sometimes unconscious, to investigate what facilitates or hinders the formation of a community in which bodies are no longer hierarchical. We ask: How is it possible to activate this perceptual dimension of listening and relating in the group? How to facilitate the creation of a choreographic score capable of generating a more equitable, sustainable, accessible, authentic and vibrant community imaginary?
