The research takes shape through an assemblage and copy-paste of horror film fragments to explore the concept of the horror genre as a dismembered body and to analyze, challenge, confront, overturn and reinvent the cultural mythology of femininity and gender in relation to monstrosity.
The dismembered and reassembled body becomes a new body: a landscape, no longer an “organic whole” but a monstrous form, creating a space of possible incorporation of desires, ambivalences, fears and pressures that come out into the open.
Mixing film criticism, fandom, feminist analysis, anecdotes of film productions, unsolicited opinions, biographical stories and news events, horror is evoked as a vital and ambiguous presence, as a power that constitutes a break with the everyday world, transgressing its boundaries and questioning the validity of rationality.
